Chopta, often called the "mini Switzerland" of Uttarakhand, is a high meadow on the Ukhimath–Gopeshwar road. It is the base for the ~3.5 km trek to Tungnath (the highest Shiva temple) and the Chandrashila summit above it — one of the finest 360° Himalayan viewpoints in Garhwal.
