Kedarnath has no direct air, rail or road access to the temple. Fly to Dehradun (Jolly Grant), take a train to Haridwar/Rishikesh, then drive ~240 km via Rudraprayag and Guptkashi to Sonprayag/Gaurikund. From Gaurikund, trek ~16–18 km or take a helicopter from Phata/Sersi/Guptkashi.
By air
The nearest practical airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (DED), roughly 240–250 km by road from Gaurikund. It has daily flights from Delhi and other metros. From the airport, hire a taxi or take a bus via Rishikesh toward Rudraprayag. By train
The major railheads are Haridwar and Rishikesh (Yog Nagari Rishikesh), well connected to Delhi and other cities. Dehradun station is another option. From any of these, continue by road. There is no railway into the upper Garhwal mountains.
By road
The classic route: Haridwar/Rishikesh → Devprayag → Srinagar → Rudraprayag → Agastyamuni → Guptkashi → Sonprayag → Gaurikund. Road distance from Haridwar to Sonprayag is about 230–240 km, typically 8–10 hours by bus or taxi. Buses and shared jeeps run from Haridwar, Rishikesh and Dehradun in season.

The final approach
Private vehicles are generally stopped at Sonprayag; official shuttle jeeps cover the last ~5 km to Gaurikund. Beyond Gaurikund there is no motorable road: the final ~16–18 km is on foot, pony, palki or helicopter.
