The full Panch Kedar circuit is a serious undertaking, but two of the five are friendly to beginners: Kalpeshwar, open all year and a short walk from the road, and Tungnath, a steep but short 3.5 km climb from Chopta. Add Kedarnath with the standard yatra and you have three of the five — a beautiful beginning.
